Redemption Chapters 1&2

Image
We all know I don't usually do comic books/graphic novels. I made a exception with the comic Redemption. A little blue bird had me look at the first two chapters. While I was a little weary that I was out of my comfort zone I am so glad I did. With rich colors and illustrations to the dialog that rang truthful and not made up comic book drivel. The lead character is very likeable I really liked the way they seemed to be self aware almost breaking the 4th wall. The story itself centers around lost love and supernatural monsters it gives off Silent Hill meets Supernatural vibe which is a welcome change to alll the other recent comics. It's just dark enough that adults will enjoy it's self aware dialog and teens and young adults will like the love interest between the leads. Worthy Chaos Comics publishes this diamond in the rough. Written and created by C.A. Grant and J.C. Litteral. It was penciled by Jonas de Costa who also inked and did the interior coloring along

The Ruse In Production (2023/2024)

Image
The Ruse is a new horror film written and directed by Stevan Mena, Produced by John Caglione Jr.  "An in-home caregiver fears for her life after being assigned to a mysterious elderly patient in a remote seaside home." Production begins May 2023 in New York and parts of Maine. Let me put this plan and simple this is the #indiehorror you should be behind. Not only do the cast and cerw have the chops to pull it off. Yet they give off a real down home vibe. They also have some of the best perks I have seen on indigogo  including my favorite perk the "Attend the world premiere" at only $279, now that's a deal to walk the red carpet. They even have a "high Five for wait for 5 fricking bucks, Please for the love of everything you hold dear support this project.  Before you met the cast a crew let me say this. The people involved have done this before and they are going to do it again. Get on now or regret it later. First a word from Stevan Mena "Hello,  than

Violent Night (2022)

Image
This has the makings of a Christmas classic! The film manages to take a more modern and cynical version of Christmas that has become far too prevalent in modern times and adds the one thing that is sorely missed from other "modern takes" on Christmas: an actual love for Christmas and what it truly means. David Harbour and Leah Brady's performances help give this movie so much of its heart and charm! Harbour manages to play the role of a violent and jaded St. Nick with not only the earnest fatigue and pain needed to make the role believable, but the writing given to him enables his abilities as an actor to be well realized as a well-defined Santa who manages to regain his belief in the winter holidy. As for Brady, the child actress does a wonderful job endearing the audience with such a lovable and endearingly believable child who while good at heart, still feels like a little kid with all of the quirks and youthful energy. That is not to undersell the remaining cast, who

Psycho (1960)

Image
I am a huge fan of Hitchcock, and have really liked all of the movies of his I have seen so far. My top 5 favourites are Vertigo, North By Northwest, Rear Window, Rebecca and this masterpiece. Before I saw this, I considered Vertigo as his masterpiece. After seeing this movie, I think Psycho outshines Vertigo. Psycho is a film that you see once and never forget, and one of the few movies out there that has left me traumatised. The infamous shower scene is without doubt one of the most terrifying murder scenes in any film. When I first saw that scene on the 100 Greatest American Films, I was so terrified and I admit it I have never recovered. I had a similar experience watching the Disney film Sleeping Beauty with Maleficent enticing Aurora to the spinning wheel, and Mrs Gulch turning into the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz. The shower scene isn't the only effective or chilling scene in the film- in the events leading up to that scene I was biting my nails. The scene with the ol

Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey (2023)

Image
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey is a cinematic masterpiece which showcases the best experience which a film can offer. The sheer magnitude in which this movie presents its high quality storytelling and entertainment value is unprecedented by any other film in recent history, perhaps even of all time. Watching Winnie on the big screen was an exhilarating experience, seeing his voluptuous figure stalk through the shadows was more orgasmic than the touch of any woman. Watching the creativity in which the attractive yellow bear carried out his vengeance against Christopher Robin was a truly magnificent sight to behold. Furthermore, the inclusion of Piglet served as a welcome addition to the film's plot and overall enjoyment. Seeing the beautiful pink creature known as Piglet carry out his bloody revenge against the victims of this film was almost as exhilarating as the sheer sexual appeal of the creature. Watching the two large sexual beasts known as Winnie and Piglet was a tru

BROTHERS - SHORT FILM (2023)

First full disclosure this isn't your typical horror movie. I chose to write about this project for a couple of reasons. I'm a former combat medic and a retired civilian paramedic because of that this film has a spieal place in my heart. Now back to your regularly scheduled review. Brothers comes to us from the fine website Indiegogo. It has a bunch of very affordable perks that most will be able to pick up. The Indiegogo Campaign Logline: When a former combat medic meets the hostile brother of his fallen comrade, they realize the survivor's guilt they share is more profound than any differences that divide them. "I Watched Friends Die in Afghanistan. The Guilt Has Nearly Killed Me." This is the title of an article in The New York Times that inspired the genesis of BROTHERS. The psychological condition of survivor's guilt has always been a source of intrigue to us and in our pursuit to further understand this complex and often overlooked condition, we felt com
